  • Humboldt County Historical Society (Eureka)
    The "primary repository for print materials and photographs that have a bearing on Humboldt County history". Contains over 10,000 photographs, 200 maps, 1000 books, booklets and yearbooks, and other materials.

  • Humboldt County Library (Eureka)

  • Humboldt State University (Arcata)
    Academic library with extensive information regarding the Klamath River watershed and region. The Humboldt Room contains special collections with regional emphases. The university also houses an extensive collection of live plants in the HSU greenhouse, and pressed plants in the herbarium.

  • Siskiyou County Free Library (Yreka)

  • Siskiyou County Museum (Yreka)
    Associated with the Siskiyou County Historical Society. Houses a research library that features photographs, manuscripts, books, newspapers and printed ephemera, maps, and an extensive clippings file.

  • Southern Oregon University (Ashland)
    A good place to look for graduate theses regarding the Klamath River region.

    CalFlora is a "comprehensive database of plant distribution information for California, a web accessible, publicly available tool for synthesis of data from disparate sources”.

  • CERES
    "CERES is an information system developed by the California Resources Agency to facilitate access to a variety of electronic data describing California's rich and diverse environments. The goal of CERES is to improve environmental analysis and planning by integrating natural and cultural resource information from multiple contributors and by making it available and useful to a wide variety of users”.

    Search several governmental databases of technical reports regarding water quality, wastewater, pesticides, ecological issues, and other environmental sciences.

    Abstracts of articles from over 20,000 publications. Does not contain fulltext.

  • Mammalian Species Index
    Index to the animals included in Mammalian Species, a publication of the American Society of Mammalogists since 1969. “Each issue describes a species in detail with the following information: scientific name and the date named, context and content, diagnosis, general characters, distribution, fossil record, form, function, ontogeny and reproduction, ecology, behavior, literature cited”.

  • National Academy Press
    Database of books published for the National Academies. Books are provided fulltext to be read and searched online.

  • Natural Resource Projects Inventory
    A searchable database containing "information on thousands of conservation, mitigation and restoration projects being developed and implemented throughout California” Searchable by county.

  • Indexes to Administrative Records for Pacific Salmon
    Contains "documents used in listing determinations and recovery planning under the U.S. Endangered Species Act (ESA)”.

  • Social Sciences In Forestry
    A current selected bibliography with subjects including legislation, policy and planning, management, economic development, etc., as applied to general forestry, forest management, forest industries, forest goods and services. Does not include fulltext.

  • StreamNet
    "StreamNet is a cooperative information management and dissemination project focused on fisheries and aquatic related data in the Columbia River basin and the Pacific Northwest. The project provides a variety of kinds of data related to fish resources and maintains the 1:100,000 scale hydrography layer for the Pacific Northwest. Information is available through the on-line database query or by custom request".
